National Schengen Information System

National Police Board of Finland has purchased a national Schengen information system as a ready-made software for the Finnish Police. The procurement covers the National Schengen Information System functionalities to serve national SIRENE Bureau including implementation project and data conversion from the existing system. The System is utilized, among others, by Finnish Police, Finnish Immigration Service, Finnish Border Guard and Finnish Customs. There will be about 100-200 end users. The procurement also included possible further development such as the Case management (CMS) functionalities for information exchange between the N.SIS system and the specified international and national information channels, such as Interpol, Europol and national police. The procurement was implemented as a security procurement as per the Act on Public Contracts in Defence and Security (1531/2011). The delivery agreement, the framework agreement and lastly the support and maintenance agreement have been signed with the selected supplier. The estimated value of the procurement includes the value of the delivery agreement, the value of the framework agreement, and the monthly value of the support and maintenance agreement multiplied by 48. The value will change according to the maintenance and development needs of the customer and the funding available and accordingly, may be lower or higher than the estimated procurement value given.
