Customised gas chromatograph (GC) system

Tampere University Foundation sr is inviting tenders for 'Customised gas chromatograph (GC) system'.

The research infrastructures of Bio and Circular Economy subunit at Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Tampere University, consist of experimental setups and analytical laboratories for studying thermochemical processes, catalytic reforming, biorefineries and hydrometallurgy, biogas and carbon dioxide utilization, bioelectrochemical systems, water engineering and micropollutants, molecular biology, and synthetic biology. This call for tenders concerns a customised gas chromatograph (GC) system with gas sampling valves and thermal conductivity, helium ionisation and mass spectrometer detectors (TCD, HID and MSD, respectively), and a software with mass spectral library to analyse the data. The solution will be used to determine qualitatively and quantitatively gaseous samples including but not limited to such analytes as N2, O2, H2, H2O, CO, CO2, CH4, N2O, NH3, NOx, SOx, H2S and volatile organic carbon compounds. Typical samples to be analysed include industrial gases, synthetic gas mixtures and gases produced in laboratory setups simulating biological and thermal processes. Samples are collected into gas bags or sampled with gas-tight syringes. The expected concentration of analytes can range from ppm-level (N- and S-compounds, VOCs) to 100% (most permanent gases). Occasionally, the samples can contain heavier compouds with higher boiling points, but a system for heating the sample line from the sample source to steam selector valve is excluded from this call for tenders (please see separate appendix/attachment of the call).
