The instrument is used for a variety of RF measurements and is supposed to deliver good performance in terms of output power and phase noise. The features of the chosen instrument must provide capabilities for several years ahead when new technological inventions are developed at the university. For this reason, the decision of the instrument is mainly based on the state of the art and future proof performance measures. The equipment is placed in a large shared space where several people work simultaneously. The equipment and all its parts must be supplied by the manufacturer or their authorised representative.
