Request for information: ETCS fitment for rolling stock

VR-Yhtymä Oyj / VR Group Plc starts with this request for information/market survey concerning the procurement of European Train Control System (ETCS) for VR Group Plc's rolling stock. This is an advance notice involving a survey of the market and potential suppliers. This notice is not a call for tenders. Replying or failing to reply to this advance notice does not preclude participation in any call for tenders. The information given in this notice is preliminary and subject to change as the preparations proceed. The advance notice is not binding in any way. The advance notice includes a request for interested parties to send their contact details by 10 of October 2022 at the latest to kimmo.vuorela@vr.fi using the subject “ETCS fitment for rolling stock”. According to a preliminary estimate, parties who submitted their contact details will be given the opportunity to present their organisation and product at a meeting (online) with VR Group Plc during week 45 - 48. VR Group Plc will send meeting invitations to the interested parties.

The European Train Control System (ETCS) is the signalling and control component of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). The procurement may include but is not limited to the hardware, configuration, installation, testing, commissioning, documentation, maintenance and support for the system version. The system will be acquired as an on-site service and installed in by a service provider. The procurement consists of functional and technical specifications, application development, system configuration, testing, documentation in Finnish, commissioning support in Finnish and application support. The procurement covers system version upgrades and version upgrade planning, maintenance, application support and operational support for the application.
