RFI / Real-time HTML5 Graphics System

With this RFI Yle invites interested suppliers to participate in the market dialogue held prior publishing the call for tenders (RFQ). Supplier should provide real-time HTML5 based graphics solutions in following areas: A) On screen, i.e. “lower third” graphics B) Full screen graphics C) Background videowall graphics D) Graphics controller In this RFI, Yle is not looking for augmented reality or virtual reality production solutions, otherwise known as AR, XR or VR systems. Parts A, B, C, and D can be offered as a single solution or independently of each other. This means, Yle is not necessarily looking for a company-wide solution; a solution for a single part (A,B,C,D) may turn out to be a reasonable solution. If not all parts are offered, a recommendation of compatible other solutions / products that fill in the missing parts is required. The offered solution for parts A, B, C, or D should be capable of serving Yle’s production environment. The entirety of it consists of 12 tv studios, 3 OB trucks, 1 playout centre and roughly dozen cloud live streaming units. Current graphic device count is roughly 200 devices, 50 real-time rendering servers and 6 non linear editing (NLE) rendering servers. Content filling clients have around 1300 installations. In this RFI, Yle is looking to identify the solutions available in the market that could meet Yle’s needs. In the RFI process, Yle may schedule meetings with a few chosen suppliers. If possible, setting up a hands-on test environment with key features of the system, would be helpful for better understanding. Kindly note that in this RFI, Yle has specified the need for real-time graphic system(s), as previously described in the RFI for Real-time Graphics Systems. INTERESTED? The agenda will focus on how your solution could fit our needs.

NOTE: With this EU Prior information notice Yle is not asking for offers. Also, it is not necessary for a supplier to participate in the market dialogue in order to later participate in the procurement procedure. Neither does participation in the market dialogue bind the supplier to participate in the procurement procedure. The purpose of this RFI is to collect information from the market and inform companies of the upcoming procurement. With this RFI you are invited to take part in the market dialogue. The description and object of the RFI are preliminary and Yle will specify the needs and objectives of the procurement in the final invitation to tender. Yle will treat responses to RFI as confidential and all material provided for the RFI will be kept confidential and only for Yle's internal use.
