Suorahankinnan perustelut
Justification for the direct purchase of the high-resolution Xevo MRT mass spectrometer (MS) is based on of the preconditions mentioned in the procurement act 1397/2016. 40§ 2) Waters is the sole MS vendor able to provide required DESI imaging technology and instrumentation meeting all the specific criteria.
Following technical features are required:
a) MS needs to be a high-resolution orthogonal-acceleration multireflective time of flight, o-MRT capable of at least 100,000 mass resolution with at full width half maximum with an MS speed of 50 MHz and an MS/MS speed of 100 MHz while providing sub-ppm accuracy.
b) Instrument must be compatible with Desorption electrospray ionization (DESI) source and imaging workflows since only DESI imaging technology enables the analysis of important metabolites for Unit´s research without adding extra substances to the analyzed matrix.
c) MS should be compatible with a bioinert UPLC system with a surface modification in the flow path which diminishes metal interaction between the instrument and the analytes.
d) It must be possible to upgrade the instrument with an unispray Ion source to enhance sensitivity and ionization
spectra.
