BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE OF THE PROCUREMENT
HUS Group is preparing the procurement of DICOM-STL PACS export tool.
There is a need for a module that is capable of exporting a DICOM encapsulated STL file into HUS PACS (syngo.share VA32C / Siemens Pacs) system into a predefined study. The need is based on European legislation (regulation 2017/745), and is further justified in an internal document. See requirement specification for details.
EXISTING SOLUTIONS AND GENERAL USABILITY
The main challenge to the existing or planned solutions at HUS is the fact that the STL must be archived in a predefined, existing imaging study.
Secondary issues arise if the workflow requires user status of a clinician or medical doctor, since the process is carried out by a 3D-technician.
The specifications arise from quite rare requirements. The probability of other use cases emerging in the organization is low.
The module will initially be operated by the end-user and in the future by the 3D engineer. The AC code data comes from a local DICOM file exported separately from PACS, STL comes from another process the design of the device itself. The product must have a support service that the subscriber can order separately if necessary.
REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION
The purchased tool(s) need(s) to meet the listed requirements:
1. Store an imaging study identifier (AC number and study instance UID etc.) from a given DICOM dataset, while either fetching it from the PACS or opening a locally stored DICOM file set. System must be able to inherit all necessary DICOM tags from the original images data.
2. Produce one or several DICOM encapsulated STL files (SOP Encapsulated STL Storage 1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.104.3) from a given binary STL file or a compatible 3D format.
3. Store the encapsulated STL files from the previous point to HUS PACS, into the study identified in 1.
4. The object STL files may be up to 500 MB in size.
HUS Group kindly requests that you respond to the following questions:
- If you are unable to supply the requested solution, please provide an explanation for this. Additionally, kindly inform us if you have a comparable solution available for offer.
- What is the possible cost estimate? Does this request for information provide the necessary details to estimate the costs?
- Does your solution meet the conditions of the attached ICT information security annex? If not, to what extent will they remain unfulfilled?
Additionally, we kindly request that you include the solution description (architecture and data flow) in your response.
RESPONSES TO THE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Responses should be sent in writing via email to kilpailutus.ict@hus.fi no later than: July 5, 2024, at 12:00 PM (UTC +3). Please title the response as follows: "HUS 349-2024 DICOM-STL PACS export tool".
Your response will be treated confidentially by the procurement authority.
